Brendan is only 12 years old and 7'4" tall. He suffers from a genetic problem so rare he is the only one in the world known to have it. Doctors have finally slowed his growth, but he has other physical problems (such as a fatty tumor in his brain) and his life span is unknown. Shaq is so cool with this kid.

Although he swam at half the speed of the record holder, Moussambani won his heat because the other two swimmers false-started. Before coming to the Olympics, Moussambani had never seen an Olympic-size swimming pool. He took up swimming only 8 months before the Olympics and had practiced in a 20m pool at a hotel in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
